What’s one book you don’t often talk about, but it was important to you at one point in your life?
Sparrow by Sarah Moon. This is the first book I’ve read that made me feel seen. It’s about a black girl who suffers from a mental illness, is in therapy and loves punk rock. I don’t talk much about it anymore.
If given the opportunity to live only one day in the setting of your favourite books, where would you go?
The Spellwork Syndicate by Lola Dodge – this seems like a low-level stress fantasy area to be in 😂
What’s the one thing you would change about your favourite book?
The Reader by Traci Chee – I would keep Archer alive at all costs!! He didn’t have to die alone like that especially with everything Sefia did to make sure he stayed alive.
Is there any kind of adaption for your favourite book, like a movie or a series. If not, what kind of adaption would you want to it to have if any?
ATLA, it’s not a book but I’d like a movie adaption that’s three movies long with each book getting its own movie.
Is there one book you read even though it was definitely outside of your comfort zone and became one of your favourite books?
Lady Killers: Deadly Women Throughout History by Tori Telfer. I don’t read a lot of nonfiction but when I saw this book and it was so good and well researched.
Do you listen to audiobooks?
I love audiobooks, they’re a godsend for someone with eye problems such as myself but unfortunately are either too expensive or unavailable in my country. So far I’ve listened to three audiobooks and I loved them.
Who is your favourite villain?
Reshma Kapoor from Enter Title Here – she’s the villain in her own story and she’s amazing.
You can only keep one genre: fantasy or contemporary?
Uhhh do I really have to??? I’m keeping contemporary because it doesn’t usually disappoint me as much as fantasy does sometimes.
Describe one random book exclusively in emojis/gifs/memes without naming it?
Do you listen to music while you read?
I can’t. I get too into the music that I forget that I’m reading and I keep having to go back to read things that I missed.
Think of your most favourite character from a book: in what relationship would you want to be with them?
Sefia from Sea of Ink and Gold: I don’t know what our relationship would be but I hope we’d be on the same side of the Red War.
I’ll be nominating some of my recent followers:
